Tap water in L'Hospitalet vs. Oasly

In L'Hospitalet, 94% of the population gets water from Zona B, which measured 40 °f of hardness in April 2026. It is safe to drink, but it leaves limescale. Here is how it compares with water from a reverse osmosis unit.

Criterion
Tap water in L'Hospitalet
Oasly

Hardness (SINAC)

Tap

Zona B (94% of the population): 40.0 °f, sample of 7 April 2026. Hard on the FACSA scale (SINAC, Zona B)

Oasly

Reduces the minerals that cause limescale, then remineralises with calcium, magnesium and potassium

Safe to drink?

Tap

Yes. SINAC's latest bulletin rates it fit for human consumption

Oasly

Starts from that same water and filters it at the point of use

Limescale at home

Tap

At 40 °f, limescale shows on kettles, coffee machines, taps and appliances

Oasly

Filtered water carries fewer of the minerals that form limescale: less build-up in the kettle and coffee machine you fill with it

Taste

Tap

Mineral-heavy and disinfected; some people notice a chlorine taste

Oasly

Reduces chlorine (tested by SGS) and remineralises so it does not taste flat

Price

Tap

What you already pay on your water bill

Oasly

€27.90 every 4 weeks or €279/year. To buy: €699 installed

Bottles

Tap

If you buy bottled water: bottles to carry home and throw away

Oasly

None. Unlimited filtered water from its own faucet

Shower and washing machine

Tap

All the water in your home has the same hardness

Oasly

Oasly only treats the faucet you drink and cook from. It does not soften the shower or washing machine

Data from SINAC (Spanish Ministry of Health), read on 9 October 2026. SINAC reports by supply zone, not by neighbourhood. Hardness scale: FACSA (7–14 °f soft, 14–32 moderately hard, 32–54 hard). Hardness is not a health issue: it affects taste and limescale. More context on our page about water hardness in Barcelona. L'Hospitalet's Zona A and Zona D (6% of the population) have no hardness data in SINAC.

Questions about reverse osmosis in L'Hospitalet

Do you install reverse osmosis in L'Hospitalet?

Yes. L'Hospitalet de Llobregat is inside our installation area, together with Barcelona city, Badalona, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Esplugues de Llobregat. Message us on WhatsApp with your postal code and we will confirm a date.

How much does reverse osmosis cost in L'Hospitalet?

€27.90 every 4 weeks or €279 a year, with the unit, installation, filters and maintenance included. If you prefer to buy it, it is €699 installed (€629 for the unit only). In Barcelona city the fee is €24.90; in L'Hospitalet it is €27.90.

Is the water hard in L'Hospitalet?

Yes. Zona B, which supplies 94% of the population according to SINAC, measured 40.0 °f (400 mg/l calcium carbonate) in the sample of 7 April 2026. On the FACSA scale, 32 to 54 °f is hard water. It is the highest hardness of the networks we checked in our service area. Hardness is not a health issue: according to SINAC, the water is fit for human consumption.

Does reverse osmosis remove limescale?

For the water from its own faucet, it reduces the minerals that form limescale, so the kettle or coffee machine you fill with it builds up less. It then remineralises the water with calcium, magnesium and potassium so it does not taste flat. It does not treat the rest of the home: the shower, washing machine and dishwasher still use mains water. That would need a water softener, which is not what we offer.

How long does installation take?

In most cases 3 to 7 days from your first message. We need the cold-water feed and drain under the sink, and usually a dedicated faucet, which needs a hole in the worktop or sink; a 3-way faucet is another option. On the day, we measure your TDS before and after and show you both numbers.

Can I install it in a rented flat?

Often yes, but ask your landlord first, mainly about the hole for the faucet. If drilling is not allowed, a 3-way faucet may work instead. If that is not possible either, we are probably not the right option for you, and we would rather say so up front.

Is there a minimum term?

No. There is no minimum term. To cancel, give us two months' written notice.

What if I live in L'Hospitalet's Zona A or Zona D?

SINAC has no hardness data for those two zones, which together supply 6% of the population, and we cannot tell from your address which zone you are in. What we do is measure your water's TDS before and after installation and show you both numbers.
